Senior Services of Southwest Michigan is holding a pet food drive October 12-16. Your generosity helps seniors care for their furry friends during tough times. In many cases, pets are the only friend, family or companion local seniors have, and with limited incomes it’s hard for elderly pet owners to provide food for themselves and their pets.
The Kalamazoo Humane Society does offer a pet food bank which is open to anyone, however this program is different in that they cater to seniors, and the pet food can be delivered with Meals on Wheels for those who are receiving that service.
The next time you stop at the store, please consider buying an extra bag or two of pet food to help local seniors in need or you can also make a donation via PayPal here!
