Holiday Lights of Love 2015

The Kalamazoo Humane Society invites you and other animal lovers to our annual Holiday Lights of Love campaign. Help celebrate the animals that have warmed your life with their love and companionship. During the holidays, your special gift of light in honor or memory of a beloved pet can bring food, hope and comfort into the lives of many other animals in the community by supporting KHS programs and services.

If you don’t own a pet, you can still become part of the KHS family by remembering a friend or family member’s pet. You can also honor the many animals waiting for a good home in shelters, rescues and foster homes across the country.

Please use the easy online form to designate white light(s) in memory of a pet or pets that have passed on, or colored light(s) for a living pet or pets (including those in shelters). We will place the light and a tag with the animal’s name on the tree.

A Lights of Love Registry List will be created, indicating the name of the person who contributed, as well as the name(s) of the animal or animals being represented by each light on the tree. If you would like to be included on this list, be sure to make your donation prior to December 9th. The Registry List will be available on the night of the Open House and a copy will also be posted to the KHS website and social media.

The special Open House and Lighting Ceremony will be held on Friday, December 11, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Kalamazoo Humane Society office at 4239 S. Westnedge. The tree will be lit at 7:30 p.m. and will shine throughout the holiday season as a reminder of our beloved pets past and present.

The KHS be accepting donations of dry dog and cat food, kitty litter and other Wish List items to put under the tree during the holiday season to benefit KHS programs.

Share your gift of light with animals in need now!
